Notable Detroit Funeral Homes to Join Rollings Funeral Service
DETROIT, MICHIGAN – RG & GR Harris Funeral Homes, which has served the northern Detroit communities for more than 110 years, recently announced that they have joined the Rollings Funeral Service family of funeral homes. The acquisition by Rollings is the first in Michigan for Rollings, and marks the beginning of the company’s strategy to expand by acquisition in the states of Michigan and Ohio.
The Harris Funeral Homes, founded in 1910 by the Harris family, include three locations and serve more than 800 families annually. The business, founded four generations ago, will continue to be managed by family members Tom Rost, son Matthew Rost, and grandson Robbert Harris.
Greg Rollings, president and CEO of Rollings Funeral Service stated, “We are extremely honored to have been chosen by the family to continue the legacy of the Harris Funeral Homes.” He continued, “Their reputation in the market is well-known for providing the best service to families, and we will focus all of our efforts to continue that legacy of service to the community.”
As the owner of the funeral homes for more than 40 years, Tom Rost recounted his reasoning for choosing Rollings. “I communicated with past owners that are now a part of Rollings, and they were all very pleased with what took place. Greg’s integrity seems flawless, and there will also be no big disruption to how we serve families.”
