Carriage Services Sells Maryland Firm to Family Owned Funeral Home Group
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — Rollings Funeral Service is proud to announce the recent acquisition of Hubbard Funeral Home in Baltimore, MD in October. Hubbard’s has been proudly serving their Baltimore community since 1941.
Greg Rollings, President & CEO of Rollings Funeral Service, commented “We’re tremendously excited to announce the addition of Hubbard Funeral Home to Rollings Funeral Service. Hubbard’s has been serving their community for almost 80 years and in that time, they’ve built an impeccable reputation of excellent service. I look forward to helping Hubbard Funeral Home uphold that reputation for years to come.” Rollings also added that this marks his first funeral home in Maryland and second funeral home in the area with Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care only 40 miles away in Stewartstown, PA.
Since the acquisition, Rollings brought on Brian Lewis, whose family has owned three funeral homes in the Baltimore area, to manage Hubbard Funeral Home. Speaking with Lewis, he mentioned his enthusiasm over what being a part of Rollings Funeral Service will mean for the future of Hubbard’s. “I think Rollings will keep us moving forward because they’re innovative, sincere, and they care about the families they serve. Greg is also honest as the day is long and he’s extremely service oriented” Lewis commented. With over 30 years in funeral service, Lewis has known Rollings for some time and also noted his trustworthiness and genuine concern in providing his funeral homes with the tools they need to succeed. When asked what Lewis is most excited about in this new chapter, he said “To know I am still working in a family owned funeral home.”
Annually, Hubbard Funeral Home serves around 180 families.
With over 50 locations along the east coast, Rollings Funeral Service is one of the largest private funeral home owners in the eastern United States. Rollings prides themselves on being a great alternative to selling to a publicly traded company and they continue to search for firms that will be a great fit for their growing family of funeral homes.
The NewBridge Group, a full-service mergers and acquisition consulting company, assisted in structuring the transaction.
