Rollings Funeral Service Announces Acquisition of West Virginia Funeral Home
PARKERSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Rollings Funeral Service is proud to announce their most recent partnership with Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services last month. The funeral home, which has been serving its community for over 100 years, was formerly owned by Kathy Kimes-Black.
Greg Rollings, President & CEO of Rollings Funeral Service, commented “I’m so honored to have the opportunity to bring Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services into the Rollings family of firms. They’ve been an establishment in the Parkersburg community for over a century and their long heritage of compassion speaks for itself. I’m confident that this new chapter will ensure that their legacy will continue for another 100 years.” Rollings also added that this marks his tenth funeral home in West Virginia.
Having been with the funeral home since she was 24, Kimes-Black decided it was time to focus more on her family and more importantly, her new role as grandmother. Wanting to preserve the Kimes’ legacy, she and her son, Brad, began researching a partner; eventually finding Greg Rollings. While there were other interested parties, she ultimately chose Rollings Funeral Service because of husband and wife team, Greg and Debbie Rollings. Kimes-Black mentioned that she felt Greg Rollings was “…honest, straightforward, and someone who I looked in the eyes and felt like I could trust.” She also mentioned that she sees this new chapter as a means to keep the funeral home moving forward into the future while maintaining the same excellent service and compassion that the families have come to know and trust.
Annually, Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services serves around 120 families.
With over 50 locations along the east coast, Rollings Funeral Service is one of the largest private funeral home owners in the eastern United States. Rollings prides themselves on being a great alternative to selling to a publicly traded company and they continue to search for firms that will be a great fit for their growing family of funeral homes.
The NewBridge Group, an Atlanta, GA based mergers & acquisitions consulting firm, focused exclusively in the funeral service sector, negotiated this transaction.
